Job Summary:
The E Commerce Product Specialist at Digital Superstore Pte Ltd will lead and manage all procurement activities across the business including fresh produce, FMCG, household items, and third-party brands. This role is vital in maintaining strong supplier relationships, ensuring product availability, negotiating cost-effective deals, managing inventory flow, and optimizing the end-to-end sourcing process to support Superstore’s promise of fast, affordable, and reliable delivery.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, or related field [Master’s preferred] from a recognized Institution. The following Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities are required to successfully undertake this role:
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum 5–7 years in procurement or category management (retail, e-commerce, FMCG preferred).
- Experience managing perishables (produce, dairy, chilled/frozen) and ambient goods.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in procurement and inventory systems (Dear, Cin7, or ERP software).
- Understanding of Fijian supply chain dynamics, import/export processes, and local vendor networks.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication.
- Advanced negotiation and cost management capabilities.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive performance.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and compliance discipline.
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, BI dashboards, and procurement platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with sales trends, promotions, and operational capacity.
- Create category-specific sourcing strategies for fresh, ambient, chilled, and third-party retail products.
- Forecast product demand using historical sales, seasonal patterns, and marketing activity plans.
- Supplier Management & Negotiation
- Identify and onboard reliable suppliers and brand partners to ensure consistent product availability.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, rebates, return policies, and promotional support.
- Build long-term supplier relationships based on transparency, data sharing, and performance KPIs.
- Cost Optimization & Margin Control
- Drive cost savings through supplier benchmarking, contract negotiation, and inventory management.
- Track procurement costs and ensure product margins meet company targets.
- Support pricing decisions by analyzing cost structures and vendor offers.
- Inventory & Stock Management
- Collaborate with inventory and warehouse teams to maintain healthy stock levels.
- Prevent stockouts and overstock situations by optimizing order frequency and quantities.
- Use data analytics to streamline replenishment cycles, minimize spoilage, and manage shelf-life risk.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with merchandising, operations, marketing, finance, and tech teams for seamless product launches, promotions, and replenishment.
- Support logistics with supplier coordination for timely delivery and receiving of goods.
- Collaborate with customer support to resolve vendor-related product issues.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate supplier contracts, purchase orders, and pricing logs.
- Implement SOPs for procurement approvals, vendor onboarding, and quality checks.
- Other Duties
- Carry out any additional tasks or responsibilities assigned by the Director.
