Lomani Island Resort & Spa is seeking a reliable, friendly, and service-oriented Driver/Porter to join our team. This role is responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation services for guests, assisting with luggage handling, and delivering a warm, welcoming experience from arrival to departure.
The Driver/Porter will ensure guest comfort and safety during transfers, maintain resort vehicles in excellent condition, assist with guest requests, and work closely with all departments to provide seamless service while upholding the resort’s high standards of hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promptly greet all guests at the lobby and front office area, using eye contact and a warm manner
- Listen carefully and attentively to guest queries, asking questions if more information is needed
- Assist with loading/disembarking from transfer boats and hotel buggy as required
- Take care of guest luggage upon arrival and departure ensuring that luggage is handled carefully, correctly labelled as needed and stored securely
- Liaise with front office staff regarding guest arrivals and departures, providing luggage delivery or collection services as needed
- Ensure luggage is secured correctly for transportation to the guest room
- Clearly provide hotel information to the guests on arrival and when escorting to their room
- Clearly explain room facilities and features to guests on arrival at the room
- Deliver guest mail and messages promptly
- Assist with guest amenity and room drop deliveries as required
- Promptly report damage to guest property to Duty Manager
- Correctly use and maintain hotel transport vehicles, ensuring vehicles are operated safely at all times
- Clean and maintain a tidy appearance of hotel vehicles
- Promptly report damage to any hotel vehicle or equipment to the Duty Manager or Front Office Manager
- Monitor movement of vehicles through guest arrival areas and resort roads, ensuring guest safety at all times
- Monitor the appearance of the guest lobby and front office areas including completing basic cleaning tasks, alerting housekeeping to any areas requiring further attention
- Maintain current knowledge of local information and tourist attractions
- Maintain current knowledge of hotel facilities and dining options to be able to make recommendations
- Maintain confidentiality and security of guest information
- Ensure guest complaints are proactively responded to and escalated to management as required
- Report entrance of any unauthorised or suspicious persons to the Duty Manager and Security
- Notify Security of any potential security problems with customers
Any other duty as reasonably requested by your manager
About You:
- Valid Fiji driver’s license - car
- Good local knowledge of tourist activities and facilities and ability to make recommendations
- Ability to lift and move heavy luggage
- Confident communication skills with demonstrated “Bula Spirit” in guest interactions
