Job Summary:

The Digital Media Systems & Communications Strategist leads the integration of broadcast-standard media production, multi-platform digital distribution, and advanced content workflow systems at Superstore. This role merges high-level editorial capability with technical expertise in digital media infrastructure, automation tools, AI-assisted production, and cross-channel optimisation.

The strategist is responsible for transforming complex operational and product information into clear, engaging narratives while also architecting the digital systems that support Superstore’s rapid, high-volume publishing model.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Media, or a related field from a recognized Institution or A Post  Graduate or Master’s Degree or professional certifications (e.g. CIM, Google Ads, HubSpot, Digital Marketing certifications) is an added advantage. The following Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities are required to successfully undertake this role:

 

Knowledge and Experience 

  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in marketing, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success in executing integrated marketing campaigns and managing brand development.
  • Experience in retail, FMCG, or technology sectors preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in broadcast-calibre production: scripting, shooting, interviewing, lighting, and editing.
  • Deep technical understanding of digital media systems, collaborative cloud workflows, file structuring, and export engineering.
  • Experience managing third-party agencies, creative teams, or vendors.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern marketing principles, digital marketing tools, and branding strategies.
  • Understanding of consumer behavior, market segmentation, and positioning strategies.
  • Familiarity with social media algorithms, paid advertising, and email marketing platforms.
  • Knowledge of graphic design, video marketing, and content marketing trends.

 

Skills and Abilities 

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in marketing metrics and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Meta Business Suite).
  • Skilled in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audition, DaVinci Resolve, and motion graphics tools.
  • Strong command of AI-assisted content tools and automation systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to merge editorial storytelling with digital-first technical execution.
  • Creative thinking and a strong aesthetic sense for visual campaigns.
  • Budgeting and financial management of marketing spend.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and develop a results-driven marketing team.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple marketing projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to respond quickly to changes in the market or consumer behavior.
  • Ability to present and justify campaign strategies and performance to senior management.

Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Digital Media Systems Architecture
  • Design and manage multi-platform media workflows, including cloud-based asset management, automation triggers, and AI-supported content processes.
  • Build structured pipelines for content development, editing, optimisation, and distribution.
  • Create digital standards for file handling, export specifications, and cross-channel delivery.
  1. Advanced Multi-Platform Production
  • Produce broadcast-quality video and audio using professional lighting, camera, and sound workflows.
  • Engineer content formats for TikTok, Meta, YouTube, radio, in-app placements, and digital out-of-home environments.
  • Apply advanced editing, motion graphics, colour grading, and audio engineering for optimal clarity, speed, and performance.
  1. Editorial Story Engineering
  • Convert operational updates, product information, and brand narratives into clear, accurate, and compelling content using journalistic storytelling principles.
  • Develop cross-platform story frameworks optimised for retention, comprehension, and algorithm performance.
  • Lead scripting, interviews, and on-camera communication with newsroom-level discipline.
  1. AI-Assisted Production & Automation
  • Implement AI tools for script drafting, audio cleanup, video restructuring, and rapid content variation.
  • Introduce automated templates and workflow systems to improve turnaround times.
  • Integrate AI into editorial review processes while maintaining accuracy and quality control.
  1. Digital Performance Optimisation
  • Analyse audience metrics, retention curves, platform algorithms, and creative performance data.
  • Adjust storytelling structures, pacing, hooks, export settings, and content architecture to improve performance.
  • Develop and run A/B tests on narrative techniques and visual styles.
  1. Cross-Channel Communication Delivery
  • Translate company updates, product releases, and community messages into optimised digital communication formats.
  • Ensure consistency of tone, clarity, and brand alignment across all channels.
  • Oversee the repackaging of long-form information into micro-content for rapid multi-platform rollout.
  1. Technical Oversight & Capability Building
  • Train internal teams on advanced production techniques, digital tools, AI workflows, and platform optimisation.
  • Establish and maintain technical standards for all media created internally or by external partners.
  • Provide ongoing support across departments to ensure communications meet editorial and technical requirements.
    1. Other Duties
  • Carry out any additional tasks or responsibilities assigned by the Head of Marketing.
