Customer Service Officer - Kavieng

We are in search of a vibrant and enthusiastic Customer Service Officer for our Kavieng Air Port. This position will report to the Port Manager and is responsible for day to day Customer Service issues such as complaints, concerns or assistance needed by passengers. They must ensure a high level of Customer Service is maintained at the Kavieng Air Port.

They will be involved in the following key responsibilities:

  • Pre-editing flights prior to commencement of check-in ensuring all groups, CIPs, VIPs and TCPs are allocated appropriate seats
  • Assist passengers through the check-in and boarding process in accordance with the Ground Operations Manual
  • Ensuring load distribution and movement messages are forwarded as per Company requirements
  • Ensuring PAs are made in a clear and professional manner in order to achieve an on time departure
  • Ensuring customer service standards are maintained
  • Ensuring all special handling messages are forwarded on to the next port (eg UM, YP, WCHR); and
  • Overseeing process for excess baggage collection
  • Communicating disruption advice to passengers and provide regular updates
  • Collection of excess baggage charges
  • Ensuring correct PPE is worn at all times
  • Report all accidents to the Port Manager
  • Other duties as required by the Port Manager, Kavieng.

For your application to be considered, you must have relevant qualification with previous experience in a similar role including having the following key attributes;

  • Grade 12 (Higher School Certificate) or equivalent
  • Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality would be an advantage
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Strong people skills with being polite, well-mannered and approachable
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a customer service role
  • Sound computer knowledge.
