Composite Engineer

An opportunity has risen within the Engineering Division for a Composite EngineerThis position reports to the Base Maintenance Manager and is responsible for providing coverage for composite repair in accordance with the appropriate processes, procedures and standards in the maintenance organisation exposition (MOE).

The Composite Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Recognising safety as a core value in all decision making in his area of responsibility
  • Fostering a positive safety culture
  • Performing and certifying (as and AME) composite work on aircrafts and components in accordance with the appropriate processes, procedures and standards in the MOE.
  • Supervising and coordinating of composite work incl. preparation as required to ensure safe and on-time completion of work assigned to his crew
  • Providing leadership and guidance to unlicensed members of his crew in regards to standards of work.
  • Bringing to the attention of his Supervisor, issues affecting safe, on-time accomplishment of assigned tasks
  • Assessment of composite damage on aircrafts and components in accordance with manufacturer guideline
  • Supporting Tech Service Department by providing damage reports if repair is outside the published limits
  • Ensure all consumable materials and tooling required for composite repair is in stock.

For your application to be competitive, you will have relevant qualification with previous experience in a similar role including having the following key attributes;

  • Relevant experience in composite repair
  • Minimum 5 years in hands experience in the aviation industry
