Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

The purpose of the position is to manage office services and assist in the development of strategies to ensure efficient & effective delivery of the Ministry’s general administration services

Key Responsibilities

The position will achieve its purpose through the following;

1) Maintain and enhance the Ministry’s Information Technology infrastructure to meet operational needs effectively.

2) Provide support for networks and personal computers, ensuring efficient IT services and implementing improvements to the existing data network.

3) Coordinate computer backups, contingency planning, and monitor the IT Help Desk to manage and resolve technical issues.

4) Provide technical support for the Integrated Border Management System (IBMS), ePassport System, and related reporting tools, including standby support as required.

5) Assist in the documentation, review, and continuous enhancement of business processes and systems to improve efficiency.

6) Manage the safekeeping, recording, and proper administration of all IT assets.

7) Ensure effective application and support of the FMIS system for all users across government. and

8) Actively contribute to all corporate requirements of the Ministry, including planning, budgeting and Human Resources Management activities where required

Knowledge & Experience

  1. 1. At least 3 years’ of relevant experience demonstrated in the similar role
  2. 2. Thorough knowledge of IT tools and systems development methodologies and implementation is essential
  3. 3. Exceptional programming skills and in-depth knowledge of current programming languages
  4. 4. Understanding of relevant and applicable legislations, procedures and regulations

  1. 1. Ability to demonstrate highly refined interpersonal skills
  2. 2. Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills with ability to perform under pressure with minimum supervision
  3. 3. Demonstrated ability to effectively work in teams
  4. 4. Must have good communication skills and ability to conduct in-house training.
  5. 5. Capacity to utilize computer programs to support the operations of a complex organization
  6. 6. Sound judgment and discretion skills.
  7. 7. Service oriented attitude and outcome focused motivated, patience and committed to task performed

 

Additional Information

Applicants for employment within the Fiji Civil Service must be Fijian Citizens, under the age of 60, in sound health with a clear police record. The successful applicant will be required to provide a medical certificate and police clearance prior as a condition of employment.
