Natadola Bay Golf Course is seeking an experienced Assistant Golf Operations Manager/Golf Tutor to join our Golf Management Team. In this role, you will oversee golf operations and services, including the golf shop, golf range, and golf cart operations, while promoting an exceptional "golf experience." The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented team leader with strong guest-centric, business, and organizational skills, as well as a passion for the game of golf. We are looking for a golf professional who can teach technique, develop new tutor programs, and lead group holiday programs.

Designed by renowned local golf legend Vijay Singh, Natadola Bay Golf Course is situated on Fiji’s stunning Coral Coast, just one hour from Nadi Airport. This course features 18 holes of tropical beauty with breathtaking views of the South Pacific Ocean and coral reefs. Our clubhouse, designed in traditional South Pacific style, offers unparalleled vistas and embodies the essence of Fijian hospitality. As the premier golf destination in the South Pacific, we have hosted the prestigious PGA Fiji International and partner with the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Player Development: Design and implement programs to teach new players the fundamentals of golf, fostering a supportive and encouraging environment.
  • Tutoring Sessions: Conduct individual and group tutoring sessions tailored to different skill levels and learning styles.
  • “Play with a Pro” Concept: Develop and promote a program where golfers can play 9 holes alongside a professional, offering personalized guidance.
  • Holiday Camps for Kids: Organize and lead engaging holiday golf camps for children, emphasizing skill development, teamwork, and enjoyment.
  • Golf Operations Oversight: Manage all aspects of golf operations, including the golf shop, golf range, and cart operations, ensuring smooth execution of services and supervision of golf groups.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise Golf Shop Service/Retail Staff, Golf Attendants/Range Service Staff, and Cart Operations, ensuring cleanliness and operational standards are met. Provide support to Food & Beverage operations as needed.
  • Community Engagement: Actively promote golf within the community, fostering participation and building relationships with local golfers.
  • Communication: Coordinate and ensure all written correspondence, reporting, newsletters, and communications for the golf operation are effective and timely.
  • Food & Beverage Coordination: Collaborate with the Food and Beverage team to address all needs related to on-course food and beverage service, banquets, and events.
  • Customer Relations: Meet, greet, and welcome prospective customers and patrons, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • On-Course Management: Enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usage.
  • Tournaments and Events: Develop and oversee an innovative tournament schedule and golf activities program catering to all customer segments.
  • Collaboration: Maintain close working relationships with the Golf Course Superintendent and other department heads to ensure cohesive operations.
  • Membership Promotion: Assist in promoting new membership leads, engaging with prospective members, and orienting new members.
  • Golf Cart Management: Manage golf cart availability, including morning setup and afternoon pack down, ensuring all carts are well maintained and operational.

 

What we need from you
  • Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with a strong work ethic.
  • Strong eye for detail and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Trade Diploma in Tourism Management or equivalent from a reputable institute.
  • At least 5 years of related experience in a similar role.
  • Essential knowledge of golf, including rules, facility operations, and tournament operations.
  • Experience organizing events at the national and club levels with Golf Fiji and Fiji PGA.
  • Membership in the PGA or previous experience in a similar role.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Valid driver’s license is a must.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
