 How will I help?

As Area Manager – Retail (Lending), you will play a key role in developing and executing regional sales strategies, coaching and supporting lending teams, and ensuring compliance and service excellence across your area. You’ll be instrumental in driving business performance while fostering a culture that puts customers first.

What are my key areas of focus?

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coaching a team of Home Finance Managers to deliver lending growth and exceptional customer service.
  • Driving regional sales and service plans to increase market share across all retail products.
  • Supporting lending capability across branches through training and development.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support business growth.
  • Monitoring compliance and risk management practices to ensure adherence to policies and regulations.
  • Championing customer experience initiatives and simplifying banking processes.
  • Managing performance, recruitment, and development of high-performing team members.

What do I need?

You will need at least five years of experience in business or retail banking, with a strong background in sales leadership and customer service to succeed in this role. A tertiary qualification in Finance, Banking, Economics, or Accountancy is preferred. You should also bring proven people leadership and coaching skills, strong knowledge of lending products and compliance standards, and the ability to think strategically while effectively executing business plans. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, along with a genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences and driving results.
