The Salvation Army Samoa Addictions Service is committed to providing compassionate, holistic care, treatment, and education to those affected by alcohol and drug use. We work collaboratively with our community to promote health, resilience, and sustainable recovery.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver educational programs on alcohol and drug prevention and harm reduction to individuals and community groups
• Provide clinical assessment, alcohol and drug-specific treatment, counselling, and support for clients experiencing addiction and related issues
• Develop individualized treatment plans in partnership with clients, AIGA, and other community support agencies.
• Collaborate with community stakeholders and health professionals to enhance service delivery
• Maintain accurate client records and contribute to program reports and evaluations
• Promote awareness and understanding of addiction-related issues within the community
Key Requirements
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Addictions, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Nursing, or related field
• Experience in addiction education, counselling, or clinical intervention preferred
• Strong understanding of addiction, its impacts, and effective treatment approaches (Cultural and Clinical)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with cultural sensitivity
• Ability to communicate fluently in Samoan and English
• Ability to work independently and as part of the team
