About Ahura Resorts

Ahura Resorts is a family-owned Fijian company operating two iconic and award-winning properties - Malolo Island Resort and Likuliku Lagoon Resort. Our resorts are recognised for authentic experiences, sustainable practices and genuine Fijian hospitality.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a capable, hands-on Finance Supervisor to take end-to-end responsibility for the finance and accounting functions of an assigned resort. This is a key operational finance role requiring timely reporting, disciplined balance sheet management, strong cash and revenue controls, effective supervision and close collaboration with resort management and the wider Finance team.

Key Accountabilities

Month-End, General Ledger & Financial Reporting

  • Manage the full month-end close process and deliver accurate management accounts within agreed reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare and review journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, intercompany balances and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Maintain complete balance sheet reconciliations, promptly investigate variances and clear outstanding items.
  • Analyse actual performance against budget, forecast and prior year, providing clear commentary on key movements.

Revenue, Accounts Receivable & Income Control

  • Oversee daily revenue and income-audit controls, ensuring accommodation, food and beverage and other resort revenues are complete and accurately recorded.
  • Manage accounts receivable, debtor ageing, credit limits, collections, guest and agent account reconciliations, and timely resolution of disputed balances.
  • Monitor rebates, allowances, voids, rate variances and other revenue adjustments, escalating exceptions where required.

Accounts Payable & Supplier Controls

  • Supervise invoice processing, purchase-order matching, supplier reconciliations, payment preparation and resolution of supplier queries.
  • Ensure expenditure is correctly approved, coded, supported and recorded in the appropriate accounting period.

Bank Reconciliations, Cashflow & Treasury

  • Complete weekly reconciliations for all assigned bank accounts and ensure the reconciled position is accurately reflected in the cashflow forecast.
  • Finalise formal monthly bank reconciliations with no unexplained or long-outstanding reconciling items.
  • Maintain short-term cashflow forecasts, monitor liquidity requirements and support payment and funding decisions.

Controls, Compliance & Audit

  • Maintain effective internal controls over revenue, cash, purchasing, inventory, payroll interfaces and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, delegated authorities, statutory obligations and applicable accounting requirements.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation and assist with external audit, tax and regulatory reviews.
  • Identify control weaknesses, recurring errors and process gaps, and implement practical corrective actions.

Team Leadership & Business Support

  • Supervise, coach and review the work of Finance team members, ensuring clear accountability, accuracy and timely completion.
  • Work closely with Resort Managers, Department Heads, Cost Control, Purchasing, Stores, Payroll and Head Office Finance.
  • Provide meaningful financial analysis and operational insight to support cost management, profitability and business decisions.
  • Provide leave cover and broader Finance support as reasonably required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline; professional accounting studies are an advantage.
  • At least 5 years' relevant finance or accounting experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or senior accounting role.
  • Demonstrated experience with month-end close, management reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, AR, AP, bank reconciliations and cashflow management.
  • Hotel, resort or hospitality accounting experience is strongly preferred.
  • Sound understanding of internal controls, taxation, statutory compliance and audit requirements. Skills & Personal Attributes
  • Strong Excel capability and proficiency in accounting, hospitality or enterprise financial systems.
  • Highly analytical and organised, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy, integrity and confidentiality.
  • Confident communicator who can work effectively with operational leaders, suppliers, auditors and Finance colleagues.
  • A practical problem-solver who takes ownership, follows matters through and continuously improves processes.
  • Reliable, resilient and willing to work additional hours during month-end, audit or other peak reporting periods when required.

Remuneration & Benefits

A competitive remuneration package and benefits will be negotiated commensurate with the successful applicant's qualifications, experience and demonstrated capability.
