HOST
The VOMO Host is a dedicated guest connection role positioned at the Front Office Pod, focused on creating warmth, flow and memorable island experiences through proactive greeting, storytelling and thoughtful upselling.
This role elevates the guest journey by being visible, present and highly engaging — supporting guests through conversation-first service while ensuring smooth handover to Reservations or relevant teams for detailed admin. The VOMO Host enhances revenue through intentional upselling across Spa, Activities and Dining, always aligning recommendations with guest preferences and mood.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively greet guests with warmth, eye contact, and a friendly presence at the Front Office Pod.
- Use guest names when possible and build recognition throughout their stay.
- Observe guest body language and energy to adjust tone and interaction style.
- Ask open-ended questions to understand guest goals, celebrations, and interests.
- Always close interactions warmly and professionally.
- Monitor arrivals, in-house guest movement, and daily island highlights to support guest flow.
- Provide clear guidance on “what’s happening today” including weather, sea conditions and island highlights.
- Support guests with quick enquiries and direct them to the right teams.
- Maintain high visibility at the Pod — remain approachable and guest-focused.
- Introduce spa, activities, and dining naturally in conversation
- Tailor recommendations based on guest profile, mood, time availability, and preferences.
- Focus on benefits and outcomes rather than technical features.
- Create gentle urgency based on limited availability, weather conditions, or demand.
- Offer alternatives when prime slots are unavailable.
- Handover smoothly to Reservations or relevant teams to confirm bookings.
- Assist with simple bookings and basic enquiries.
- Avoid extended screen time while guests are waiting.
- Escalate complex admin tasks (billing, operational issues, detailed rebookings) to Supervisor or Assistant Manger (front office)
- Arrive 10–15 minutes early, fully groomed and guest-ready.
- Ensure the Front Office Pod remains clean, tidy, well stocked and welcoming.
- Maintain collateral, welcome items, water, and iPad/system readiness.
- Uphold luxury presentation standards and calm professionalism at all times.
- Share guest insights, feedback, and opportunities with Front Office, Wellness, Activities and F&B teams.
- Conduct end-of-shift handover including VIPs, celebrations, repeat guests, upsell opportunities and unresolved guest needs.
- Support a culture of collaboration and smooth guest journey handover.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Strong guest service experience in luxury resort/hospitality
- Confident communication skills with natural warmth and emotional intelligence
- Ability to upsell without pressure (experience-led selling)
- Strong knowledge of resort offerings or ability to learn quickly
- Professional grooming and presentation
- Strong teamwork and collaboration mindset
Desirable
- Experience in high-end spa, concierge or guest relations
- Multilingual skills (advantage)
- Strong storytelling ability and local/island knowledge
- Familiarity with reservations systems / PMS (Opera or similar)
