The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, analysing, presenting and interpreting accurate, timely and useful information on the Fiji economy, while also monitoring and assessing international developments that may influence Fiji’s economic outlook. The role requires ensuring that the information used for developing economic forecasts and research, advice, and analysis is robust, well-founded and effectively communicated.
The successful candidate must possess a degree in Economics, Econometrics, Finance or equivalent qualifications. The candidate should demonstrate key competencies required for the role, including sound research, analytical, report writing, presentation skills, and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications along with the capacity to work with minimum supervision. Additional attributes such as attention to detail, being a team player and good interpersonal and communication skills are also required. Other training (in information systems) or proficiency with software such as R, Eviews, Python, as well as relevant work experience, will be considered an advantage. Candidates with postgraduate qualifications in Economics or related disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply.
