Manager IT Operations and Infrastructure

This role reports to the Senior Manager IT and Cybersecurity and is responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive ITC service that supports both current operations and future business growth. The successful candidate will also oversee the design and implementation of all IT network and infrastructure improvements identified within the Information Technology plan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages IT operations and ensures that all changes undergo thorough testing, staging, change control, and security assessments to maintain the integrity and stability of the environment.
• Manages and maintains datacentre operations and IT infrastructure activities that promote continuous availability, confidentiality and integrity.
• Leads projects encompassing architecture design, technology review, testing and rollout of core IT network and infrastructure.
• Build technological roadmaps considering capacity management, business strategy, and compliance goals.
• Implements the IT backup and recovery strategy, developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans, conducting periodic rehearsals and documenting results.
• Leads the process for remedial tasks on compliance gap assessments such as ISO 27001, NIST or PCI DSS for datacentre operations and technology.
• Actively leads a team of IT Operations and infrastructure personnel for their development and growth.
• Develops and manages IT policies, processes and standards in collaboration with respective stakeholders.
• Creates a strong partnership with vendors and suppliers.
• Review and manage IT operational costs; preparing plans for improvements in cost base or expanded returns.
• Manages IT operations, including 2nd and 3rd level support for escalated tickets, daily health checks, incident management and problem tickets.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or equivalent.
• Certified in Microsoft / Cisco / VMware / Prince 2 or similar.
• Cybersecurity accreditations are an added advantage.
• At least 10 years of work experience in the IT industry with minimum 5 years' experience in managing enterprise IT projects.
• Good understanding of ITIL service management framework.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must have experience with team management and being customer focused.
