Carpenters Shipping is a well-established shipping & forwarding Agency and heavy transport and logistics business. We are seeking to employ experienced and a proactive individual for the Storeman role to be based in Suva.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, check, and store incoming parts, materials, and supplies for trucks and heavy vehicles.
- Accurately issue parts to mechanics and workshop staff as requested.
- Maintain up-to-date records of stock levels, movement, and transactions.
- Conduct regular stock takes and assist with inventory audits.
- Ensure all parts are stored securely, clearly labeled, and organized for easy access.
- Monitor stock levels and notify the Inventory Officer or Supervisor of any shortages or re-order requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers and delivery personnel regarding incoming shipments.
- Assist with sourcing and identifying the correct truck parts as per specifications or vehicle models.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the storeroom or parts warehouse.
- Support workshop and operations staff with general logistical tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a store or warehouse environment, preferably within the automotive, transport, or mechanical industry.
- Strong knowledge of truck parts and mechanical components is essential.
- Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
- Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy parts and equipment.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Familiarity with stock management systems or inventory software is an advantage.
- A valid group 2 or higher Fiji driver’s license is desirable.
Education & Qualifications:
- Form 6 or higher education preferred.
- Certificate or trade qualification in automotive, mechanical, or logistics fields is an advantage.
