JOB VACANCY – SENIOR ISLAND ELECTRICIAN
Wakaya Island Resort & Spa, one of Fiji’s premier private island resorts, is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Senior Island Electrician to join our Engineering Team. This position plays a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all resort electrical systems and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all electrical systems across the resort including guest accommodations, staff quarters, utilities, and recreational facilities.
- Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, and preventive servicing of electrical equipment and installations.
- Supervise, mentor, and guide junior electricians and maintenance staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and resort policies.
- Maintain and manage standby power systems, generators, fire alarm systems, solar power, and marine-related electrical equipment.
- Provide technical support to projects, renovations, and cross-departmental needs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Licensed Electrician with a minimum of 7–10 years’ work experience, preferably in an island or resort environment.
- Proven knowledge of electrical systems, generators, renewable energy (solar, inverters), and power distribution.
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills with the ability to work independently.
- Possession of a valid Driver’s License will be an added advantage.
- High level of problem-solving skills and adaptability to remote island operations.
