Team Leader – Labasa

Reporting to Fiji Link's Senior Manager Ground Operations, the successful incumbent will be based at the Labasa airport.

The purpose of the role of the Team Leader is to ensure Flight operations in a safe, secure and in accordance with regulation and Fiji Link manuals. The role is a supervisory role to monitor flights, coordinate and support the Front of House & Back of House Ground Handling and agents to drive safe and secure on-time departures. Ensure adherence to the safety, operational and statute requirements at all times. The role is also to ensure that there is no revenue leakages.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that briefing is conducted with staff. Duty allocation is done before start of shift with the number of flights, special handling including VIP/CIP/MEDIA, etc.
  • Ensure that all Back of House staff PPE's is as per the requirement stated in the Ground Operations Manual (GOM).
  • Monitoring and facilitation of passenger from check-in, boarding, disembarking and aircraft loading and unloading in a safe , secure and timely manner.
  • Ensure staff provide courteous customer service to all Fiji Link customers.
  • Promote and drive revenue collections, handling and security of cash at the Airport is well maintained at all times.
  • Checking and ensuring closure of flights in the Amadeus System as well completion of Loading Instruction Sheet (if required), the Load sheet, NOTOC and other flight related documents in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that the completion and forwarding of all Accountable Flight Documents on a daily basis to the Finance department .
  • Maintain good work relationship with collegues in Reservation, Sales, Ramp and Other stations and Operations Control Centre to promote safe operations.
  • If assigned Back of House duties, ensure all flights baggage makeup is done according to Loading Instructions Report, offloading is done according to aircraft limitations, loads are checked to be correct, BRS is used for both loading and offloading of bags, bags are transferred in a timely manner to International, LIR is signed and handed to Operating crew including all other flight related document and be the point of contact for the crew for any queries.
  • Incases of delayed or cancelled flights, passengers are informed of the latest timings, passengers are given refreshment at the airport and recovery flights are planned with Operation Control Centre/SMGO.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • A Form 7/ Year 13 pass or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in an airport or other areas and some aviation operation is required.
  • Possess Grade 2 Fiji Vehicle Driver's license.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good supervisory skills with the ability to mentor and coach subordinates effectively.
  • Self-organized and capable of working under pressure.
  • Must be conversant with airport operations regulations with the ability to apply appropriately.
