The Organisation
Barrier Beach Resort is a higher-end boutique resort located on the east coast of Espiritu Santo (Champagne Coast), Vanuatu. http://www.barrierbeachresort.com/
The adults-only Resort consists of 18 individual ensuite rooms and is located on one of the best beach frontages on Santo. A quality Restaurant (Waves) and the Moyyan Spa provide services to Resort guests and are also open to the public and local community. During 15 years of operation, the Resort has received many awards testifying to its standing as a top destination in the South Pacific.
The Position
The role is responsible for the overall management of the Resort, covering all key operational areas. This includes guest relations, staff leadership and development, and driving sales and marketing with a strong focus on online platforms, social media, and OTA channels. It also involves overseeing food and beverage operations, maintaining high service standards, and managing costs. In addition, the role requires effective management of maintenance and engineering functions, including utilities, facilities, and equipment, as well as financial planning, accounting, and profit improvement. The position also entails preparing management reports, including monthly updates for the Board of Directors and documentation for the Annual General Meeting.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Formal qualifications in hospitality management
► Extensive successful experience in the management of similar resorts, preferably in a South Pacific environment, and achieving demonstrable results in terms of guest satisfaction, staff satisfaction, and profitability
► Proficiency with English, both spoken and written, is required
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Experience running & operating a restaurant
► Pacific Islands experience
► Driver's license
► Experience using Siteminder, Xcel, and Word
