Vodafone Vanuatu is seeking for a Cashier to be based in PORT-VILA.
Missions
The Cashier is responsible for collecting and processing customer payments, handling daily banking and reconciliations, and ensuring accurate and efficient service at the front desk.
Principal Objectives
Daily tasks include:
- Processing all customer payments into GPTo against respective accounts
- Preparing daily physical banking (cash and cheques) before 10:00 AM
- Selling refill cards and top-ups over the counter
- Handling M-VATU deposits and withdrawals, performing daily float reconciliations, and reporting
- Preparing and filing daily sales reports to hand over to the Reconciliation Officer
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure cash collected matches the GPTo banking system at the end of each day ▪ Reconcile and bank all cash and cheque transactions before 10:00 AM daily
- Support the Supervisor in reconciling Street Sellers’ stock and cash
- Process Street Sellers and M-VATU transactions before close of day
- Immediately report any discrepancies in Street Seller reconciliations
- Process direct debit payments advised by the Finance team
Competences:
1. Knowledge
- Certificate in Finance or related field
- Experience as a cashier
- Experience in customer service
2. Skills
- Fluent in English and Bislama (basic French an advantage)
- Strong customer service orientation
- Experience in reconciliation and cash handling
3. Job characteristics
- Excellent understanding of commercial and financial procedures
- Highly motivated and energetic
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive “can-do” attitude
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
