As the Head Baker, you will oversee all aspects of our baking operations. You will lead a team of bakery employees and ensure that our products meet our high standards of quality and consistency. This role requires a creative and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in baking techniques and production management.

Your day to day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Prepares and produces such bakery and specialty products as pastries, cakes, pies, muffins, breads, puddings, parfaits, frosting, cookies, rolls
• Requisition supply items as needed from storerooms
• Follow HACCP guidelines and ensure that colleagues comply with HACCP guidelines
• Prepares and bakes all bakery items for menu and catered events following standardized recipes
• Looks after the full bread and pastries production line
• Ensure the food cost of his Bakery is in line with budget kitchen operating supplies, and kitchen energy costs
• Estimates baking needs, requisitions adequate supplies, inventories supplies, and keeps records of products made and used
• Coordinates in details on the restaurant / banquet / food production, and all specific duties to all employees

What we need from you

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Demonstrated experience as a Head Baker or in a similar leadership role.
• Expertise in baking techniques, ingredient functions, and modern equipment.
• Ability to develop and tailor recipes to meet evolving customer preferences.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team management capabilities.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Keen attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
• Thorough knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Business acumen to assist in cost control, waste reduction, and efficiency improvements.
• Passion for baking and a continuous drive for creativity and excellence.
