We’re looking for an Assistant Security Manager to take ownership of delivering exceptional first impressions – assist in managing the security functions to provide a safe and secure hotel environment for our guests and colleagues alike.
A little taste of your day-today:
Every day is different, but you'll mostly:
- Assist in managing and delegating everyday duties for our team of committed hospitality professionals.
- Assist in managing the daily activities of the security department. Plan and assign posts, work and schedule colleagues to ensure proper coverage.
- Communicate and enforce policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all loss and safety incidents involving guests, colleagues and/or hotel loss and safety exposure are thoroughly investigated.
- Manage and administrate Risk Management per company guidelines.
- Train/educate colleagues on current safety issues to ensure compliance with all company loss control policies and current security and safety regulations.
- Develop and conduct training for all colleagues in the area of safety, security and fire protection.
- Inform management of hazardous situations, emergencies or threats to the security of guests, colleagues or hotel assets.
- Schedule preventative maintenance and repairs to Security equipment as needed and ensure that equipment is prepared and operational for the following day’s work.
- Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans which support the overall objectives of the hotel.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
- Monitor Risk management calendar updates for all departments.
- Conduct monthly safety meeting and follow up on outstanding issues.
- Manage incident reporting process.
- Check cameras weekly to ensure that all are functioning properly.
- Monthly AED inspections.
- Conduct Fire evacuation drills and training.
- Maintains all Fire life safety systems, ensures they’re in good working order, up to date with inspections and bookkeeping.
- Monthly fire extinguisher checks.
- Perform other duties as assigned and may serve as “manager on duty” as required.
What we need from you:
- 2+ years’ related experience, including management experience.
- Experience of operating in a five-star resort.
- High standard of personal presentation.
- Meticulous eye for detail and exceptional planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with a confident and outgoing personality and an ability to interact with people at all levels.
- Passion for delivering exceptional guest service.
- Ability to multitask and work in a busy, fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to take initiative and a practical approach to problem solving.
- Positive and flexible approach to work (Weekend, evening and nighttime work will be required).
- Knowledge of managing budgets and profit margins would be advantageous.
