Reports to: SVSG President
Location: SVSG Office, Old Police Building, Apia
Position Purpose:
To assist with creating communication content for all aspects of services, activities and projects of the Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG).
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assist with developing and implementing communication strategies for SVSG.
- Write and edit content for various communication channels used by SVSG to promote and to raise awareness on the support services, including media releases, social media, websites and public.
- Coordinate press conferences with local media where relevant.
- Assist with write up of presentations, speeches, speaking notes, for any events hosted by SVSG.
- Assist with drafting outgoing correspondences required from the Comms & Program Division for SVSG and its work.
- Assist in compilation of the SVSG newsletter, Division Reports, Annual Reports, Board Reports and any Comms Materials required from the Comms & Program Division from time to time.
- Assist with drafting/reviewing policies, systems and processes documentation required for SVSG’s work.
- Assist in providing staff training on new policies and systems.
- Attend relevant trainings, workshops, meetings etc on behalf of SVSG, and submit reports on these thereafter.
- Any other duties as directed from time to time.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- A Diploma Communications or Journalism.
- Prior experience in creating digital content and managing communications campaigns.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
- A familiarity with the best practices of common social media platforms is also an asset for this position.
- Creative thinker and work well in a team setting.
