Positions: Sous Chef and Chef de Partie

Are you a culinary professional with a passion for excellence? Royal Davui Island Resort, a premier luxury resort in Fiji, is looking for dedicated and experienced chefs to join our team. We have exciting opportunities for a Chef de Partie and a Sous Chef.

Sous Chef

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen operations.
  • Ensure the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes consistently.
  • Develop new menu items and improve existing ones.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring high performance and motivation.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs.
  • Maintain impeccable hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role.
  • Culinary certification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and solve problems effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Chef de Partie

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook high-quality dishes, ensuring consistency and excellence in every plate.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and refine menu items.
  • Oversee and manage your designated kitchen section, maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
  • Monitor stock levels, minimize waste, and ensure the freshness of all ingredients.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role.
  • Culinary certification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • A creative and innovative approach to food preparation and presentation.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
