Organisation Summary
The Fijian Competition & Consumer Commission (FCCC) is an independent statutory body established under Section 7 of the FCCC Act 2010 that promotes effective competition and informed markets, encourages fair trading, protects consumers and businesses from restrictive practices, controls prices of regulated industries and other markets where competition is lessened or limited.
Purpose & Nature of Role
The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading the IT infrastructure for FCCC while working closely with the Senior ICT Officer & System Analyst and Manager ICT.
The incumbent will be required to monitor and maintain the ICT assets and networks through installations regular checks, maintenance and configurations as and when necessary. Incumbent will be required to respond to all IT services and requests in a timely manner, providing technical support across FCCC. Successful incumbent will also be required to assist in carrying out graphics designing for FCCC as an when required.

Key Accountabilities
- To provide technical support and advice as required across FCCC for staff;
- To adopt a proactive approach and responsibility in providing ICT support, advice and one to one training to staff;
- To install, maintain, upgrade and repair a wide range of ICT equipment.
- Rectify problems relating to the malfunction of ICT equipment including software.
- Respond to ICT Support requests in a timely fashion to ensure minimum disruption to Teaching and Learning at all times. Assist with the administration of the telephone system.
- Install and upgrade both systems and application software as required adhering to all licensing regulations.
- Maintain the FCCC’s ICT Online systems including Websites
- To maintain an inventory of computer hardware and software (including licenses).
- Perform preventive maintenance duties on items of ICT hardware, including the cleaning of equipment.
- Maintain and help develop the FCCC’s network.
- To provide support for the information management system (SIMS) and associated software.
- Report any suspected security breaches
- To monitor and maintain general ICT consumable stock to ensure adequate supplies are available in a timely and cost-effective manner ensuring Best Value at all times.
- Follow FCCC backup, virus protection and security procedures. Note risks to ICT systems and suggest precautions
- To monitor and keep a log of all breakdowns and alterations to the network.
- Liaise with suppliers and external support companies as appropriate
- Record accurately and prioritize support requests, outcomes and time taken in the Helpdesk software.
- To assist with the design and maintenance of the FCCC's intranet, web site and digital signage system ensuring they are populated with current data at all times.
- Create user accounts for staffs to access the FCCC network including other specific/departmental software used
- To be aware of upcoming events in FCCC ensuring photographs and filming is carried out effectively and efficiently with creative and artistic flare (Newsletter)
- Ensure all Occupational Health & Safety procedures are followed according to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1996 while carrying out hazardous work outside or within the Office Premises.
- Ensure all the hazards concerning the area of work are highlighted prior to the Department Manager.
- Ensure Innovation and continuous improvement and business excellence strategies are implemented on a random basis to achieve the desired outcome of FCCC.
- Any other official task assigned by the Department Manager or any Manager or Executive Management relevant to FCCC's Operations.
Qualification
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, MCSA, MCSE,VCP, ITIL.
Knowledge and Experience
• Applicant should have 3 - 4 years of comprehensive work experience
• Extensive experience in ICT including Mac/Windows client and server, and administrative systems, including recent technical certifications
