About the Opportunity
We are currently looking for an experienced Transport and Logistics Manager to compliment our dynamic team at our base in Gordons, Port Moresby. This position will plan, manage and support the day-to-day transport operations for our fast paced and rapidly expanding Security Company. Leading a large team of transport staff, this individual will come with proven experience in a similar leadership role, possess problem solving capabilities and a flair for multi-tasking and managing their workload.
The Position
- Management and scheduling of all TSI transport, drivers and escorts to maximize the efficiency of the dedicated fleet.
- Development and continuous review of asset utilization strategy to maximize the use of assets and value add to TSI.
- Provide guidance to train, develop, coach and support the Transport Team to ensure knowledge and skills are relevant and applicable.
- Oversee and coordinate Maintenance & Servicing scheduling for all TSI fleet of vehicles
- Liaising with stakeholders and customers to build strong relationships
- Identifying opportunities for promotion and development of business and ways to increase revenue streams.
- Monitoring all driver/transport compliance and safety requirements
- Ensure daily reporting is completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and standards
- Data entry and various administrative tasks, e.g., rostering and timesheets
About You
- Minimum 2+ years of proven experience managing transport operations in the resources sector, military, security or similar industry in Port Moresby.
- Have sound mechanical knowledge with insight into diesel plant and equipment repair
- Actively promote a culture of continuous improvement to increase product quality, safety, customer service and employee engagement
- Demonstrate strong relationship building at all levels within the business
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with the ability to work calmly and efficiently in a high-pressure environment
- Co-ordinate and collaborate well with other team members in multiple departments across the business
- Able to work autonomously and manage own workload
- Possess a positive and solution focused attitude
- Good personal presentation and professional outlook
- Proficiency in MS Office suite of products Possess a valid Class 6 Drivers License
