The Fiji Corrections Service invites interested candidates for the position of Deputy Commissioner of
Corrections who will be responsible to the Commissioner of Fiji Corrections Service on the followings:
ROLES
The Deputy Commissioner assist in carrying out the Commissioners authority and responsibility for the
overall direction, coordination and supervision of operational programmes of the Fiji Corrections Service
(FCS). The role of the position will support and elevate the FCS profiles and leadership in economy and
social spheres.
The position will ensure to execute the key responsibility for leading the FCS management of its resources
and for advancing in the government policy priorities through;
1) Ensuring that the FCSS' outputs are continuously monitored and evaluated through timely submission of reports to the Commissioner;
2) Provide inputs in the key areas of the strategic development and Annual Corporate Plan
3) Management of day-to-day operations including the agency's financial and budget activities. Coordinate and control the implementation of the FCS Strategic Development Plan and Annual Corporate Plan;
4) Strategically manage the inflow of all communications in and out of the media, including press release Contribute to all corporate requirements which includes planning, budgeting and selection
activities when required; and
5) Providing regular advice on all relevant business and deputizing for the Commissioner when
unavailable so there is an uninterrupted workflow.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Must have at least (10) years' experience at Senior Management level in the field of Corrections. Promote
and share commitment to the strategic direction of an organisation. Must have previous experience in
handling policy and have the ability to give political advice to the Commissioner at Political Level. Have
experience of negotiation/discussions with senior staff of government and non-government agencies. Working knowledge of the Fiji Constitution and other relevant legislations.

6)Serve oriented approach with a commitment to supporting the operational/corporate environment
of the Fiji Corrections Service.
QUALIFICATION
Graduate from an accredited institutions with Masters Qualification (or equivalent) relevant to Public
Admin/ Industrial Relations/Development Criminology or similar field. Have the Knowledge, Experience,
Skills and abilities to successfully undertake this role.
The appointee will be stationed at the National Headquarters, Suva.
